EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT! AVOID EXPOSURE OF (PREGNANT) WOMEN!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
  • Cough. Laboured breathing. Sore throat.
    Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
  • Redness. Pain.
    Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Wear protective gloves when administering first aid.
  • EYES
  • Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
  • Abdominal pain.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Rest. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place (extra personal protection: P3 filter respirator for toxic particles).
Fireproof. Tightly closed. Cool. Dry. Keep in the dark.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO WHITE CRYSTALLINE POWDER, TURNS DARK ON EXPOSURE TO LIGHT.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
    TLV not established.

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20░C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or dispersing.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Exposure of high level may result in death.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. The substance may have effects on the blood and the central nervous system. This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxic effects upon human reproduction.
    PHYSICAL
    PROPERTIES
Boiling point at 0.0033 kPa: 180-190░C
    Melting point: 70-71░C
    Relative density (water = 1): 1.33 at 90░C
    Solubility in water: none
Vapour pressure, Pa at 40░C: <0.1
Octanol/water partition coefficient as log Pow: 3.4
    ENVIRONMENTAL
    DATA
In the food chain important to humans, bioaccumulation takes place, specifically in plants and fish. It is strongly advised not to let the chemical enter into the environment.
    NOTES
The technical product is dark brown. Other melting points: 64-71░C for technical product. The substance is combustible but no flash point is available in literature. Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. Do NOT take working clothes home. Tok-2, Tok E25, Tokkorn are trade names. Also consult ICSC # 0438.
